When a thick wool scarf starts to feel too heavy, it’s time to wrap a linen scarf around your neck. Linen feels pleasant against the skin, absorbs moisture efficiently, and dries quickly. That’s why it is an excellent material for accessories. The TSAVO scarf is made from easy-care 100% washed linen. Naturally and beautifully crinkled, linen is a relaxed yet stylish material. The TSAVO linen scarf is comfortably lightweight, yet large enough to protect not only the neck but also the shoulders.
In the TSAVO scarves designed by Mifuko, the colours of Kenya and Finland glow vibrantly.
Lapuan Kankurit has collaborated with the Finnish company Mifuko for several years. We both share many core values, and for both of us, product ethics and traceability are of great importance. Mifuko’s founders, Mari Martikainen and Minna Impiö, combine Scandinavian and African elements in their work boldly. For them, design means joyful and ethically sustainable collaboration between countries, companies, and cultures.
We have used Masters of Linen–certified 100 % linen yarn for both the warp and weft, spun from fully traceable long staple flax. We love flax as a material, for it is a durable, comfortable and environmentally friendly fibre.
Our flax grows with the power of rainwater in the temperate climate of central Europe, needing no irrigation. The yarns have been spun and dyed in the EU area according to the REACH regulations.
Did you know that linen is an ecological choice also because the dirt comes off it even when washed at 40 degrees Celsius?
Wash the new textile separately before use at 60°C in plenty of water. 40°C is also an adequate wash temperature. We recommend a small amount of neutral washing powder. Avoid softener and bleach. Normal spin cycle. Do not tumble dry. Linen fibres may come off the product during the wash. Check the lint filter before and after washing. Iron the textile with linen settings. The colour of natural linen becomes lighter with washing.
Reuse and recycle!
