This plate is roughly 18cm in diameter and a beautiful deep ruri blue in color. This piece is fired with Hasami’s traditional gosu blue glaze, which creates a beautiful finish with subtle differences in hue.

The German poet Novalis’ unfinished novel Heinrich von Ofterdingen features a boy searching for a “blue flower” that he saw in his dreams. The blue flower is actually meant to represent things that do not exist in this world.

“Blue flowers” bloom in a fictitious “Floating Garden.” It commands a powerful if ephemeral presence that is deeply memorable on first glance. These plates create a dreamy atmosphere even the most normal of tables.
